BG’s New GridLite Modular Switches Make Installation Lite Work

A screwless, clip-in modular switching system designed for faster installation and greater flexibility.

BG GridLite gives electricians a simpler way to create bespoke switching configurations. Its screwless, yoke-free design allows modules to clip directly into place, be installed either way up and be replaced individually, helping save time on site and simplify future changes.

Developed in response to installer feedback, BG GridLite combines practical installation benefits with the quality, reliability and premium finish expected from BG.

Faster, simpler installation

At the heart of GridLite is a screwless, clip-in design that removes the need for fiddly module fixing screws. Individual modules simply push into place for quick, straightforward installation.

The yoke-free construction allows modules to be installed either way up, providing greater flexibility around wiring and site conditions. Modules can also be wired before the faceplate is fitted, helping installers complete the wiring stage before finishing the installation.

GridLite is engineered for modern lighting applications, with:

  • 20A-rated single-width modules
  • Standard switch modules compatible with 16mm back boxes
  • Screwless, clip-in module installation
  • Yoke-free construction for flexible orientation
  • Modules that can be wired before fitting the faceplate

Modular flexibility for every installation

GridLite makes switching configurations easy to build, adapt and maintain. Individual modules can be removed and replaced independently without removing adjacent modules or replacing the complete device.

Whether replacing a switch, upgrading functionality or adapting to changing requirements, installers can modify the configuration without starting again.

Compact design, maximum functionality

GridLite's compact single-module touch dimmer occupies the same footprint as a standard switch, providing additional functionality without taking up extra space.

Up to three modules can be fitted to a single square plate, creating a compact switching solution while maintaining a clean, premium finish.

Simpler stockholding for installers and wholesalers

GridLite's modular approach also helps simplify product selection and stockholding. Rather than carrying multiple pre-configured switch combinations, core modules can be stocked and configured to suit individual projects.

This gives installers and wholesalers greater flexibility when responding to different requirements while potentially reducing the number of complete switch configurations that need to be held in stock.

Designed around the installer

GridLite was developed with direct installer feedback, focusing on three key requirements: speed, flexibility and ease of installation.
